Scope of activity: Sawing industry and parquet fabrication
The plant acted as Csurgó Sawing Plant of SEFAG Forestry and Timber Industry Joint Stock Company till 1994. In October 1994 it became ain independent business organisation that is owned totally (in 100%) by SEFAG Ltd. The plant has more than fifty years' woodworking past. It has 240 employees and carries out production activity in five production halls. The main goods manufactured here are various types of the parquet (grooved, lamella, industrial and finished surface double-layer parquet) and three-layer parquet covering layer. The major part - 90 % - of the basic material for finished and semi-finished articles is provided by forests of SEFAG Ltd and sawn in the sawing plant of the company; the yearly amount is approximately 30,000 m3. Eighty-five percent of the cut up logs is oak timber. Ninety percent of the collection of goods produced by the sawing plant is processed in the parquet factory of the company. The yearly production of the parquet factory is 130,000 m2 lamella parquet, 90,000 m2 finished surface double-layer parquet, 500,000 m2 three-layer parquet covering layer and 50,000m2 dielen covering layer. Major part of the products is exported but the great Hungarian parquet plants also use these products.
To fulfil the market demands and customers' expectations new products and collections have to be introduced. It is a good challenge for the company, which regularly starts new investments, carries out developing activity and initiates new technologies.
